LifeLock Cost –  Most Bang for Your Buck

You’ve probably seen LifeLock’s commercials on TV, heard radio ads, or seen banners while surfing the internet. Since it’s creation in 2005, LifeLock has grown to become one of the leaders in the identity theft protection industry. They’ve built their membership base to over 4 million and growing.

Some critics say that LifeLock is a scam and you can do what they do for free. After reading this review, you will clearly see the services provided go above and beyond what you could do on your own.

In an industry that receives criticism for their reputation and service, LifeLock boasts an 85.6% retention rate. This success is because LifeLock offers identity theft protection that goes well beyond just standard credit monitoring.

LifeLock recently bought ID Analytics, a tech company that specializes in monitoring the financial world. Their patented technology allows LifeLock to identify suspicious activity quickly so its members can react to alerts even faster.

LifeLock Protects You in 3 Ways:

  • Alerts : You’ll be alerted via phone/email if suspicious activity occurs on your accounts.
  • Fix : If you become a victim of identity theft, LifeLock’s dedicated award winning recovery specialists will help fix your issues.
  • Million Dollar Protection™ Package*: LifeLock will spend up to $1M on experts to restore your identity.

Critics of LifeLock’s identity theft protection say that you can do what LifeLock does minus the costs.

Now you can compare LifeLock vs. DIY identity theft protection to see if LifeLock is worth it.

LifeLock vs. DIY and is LifeLock Worth it

DIY – If you need to hire necessary experts to restore your identity, it will come out of your pocket. You may get your money reimbursed from your bank or credit card company, but they won’t give additional funds to restore your identity.

LifeLock Identity Alert SystemLifeLock Identity Alert System

How it Protects – LifeLock scans over 1 trillion data points a day looking for suspicious activity under your name. If something seems fishy, they’ll send an alert by email or phone.

DIY – You can go to each credit bureau and request a fraud alert, however, it’s impossible to have that kind of patented software that’s capable of what LifeLock can do. You don’t have enough time in the day to monitor your identity for possible intrusions.

Unlimited accessIdentity Restoration Support

How it Protects – Identity restoration specialists  are available day or night to personally handle your issue and help you restore your identity.

DIY – If you have your identity stolen, you’ll have to make all the time consuming phone calls yourself and figure out how to restore your identity on your own.

How it Protects – LifeLock will request your name to be removed from multiple pre-approved credit card mailing lists.

DIY – You can do this yourself for free through optoutprescreen.com.

DIY – Most identity theft protection companies don’t offer this benefit either.

Verification of AddressUSPS Address Change Verification

How it Protects – Identity thieves try to divert mail to get important financial information. LifeLock lets you know of changes in address requests at the U.S. Postal Service linked to your identity.

DIY – Address changes show up on your credit report. You can request a free credit monitoring account with Credit Karma – it’s good for this.

Internet Monitoring for Illegal TradingBlack Market Website Surveillance

DIY – You would need sophisticated software and the knowhow of the different sites to monitor.

Lost Wallet ProtectionLost Wallet Protection

How it Protects – If your wallet is lost/stolen, call LifeLock and they will help cancel and replace credit cards, diver’s licenses, Social Security cards, and insurance cards.

DIY – You can do this by making the necessary calls, however LifeLock will cover up to $2,000 per stolen identity event in document replacement costs.

LifeLock Advantage Plan: These benefits include everything from the Standard Plan and more:

How it Protects – LifeLock will send you notifications when sex offenders move into your neighborhood.

DIY – No. You can use free services like familywatchdog.us to find sex offenders in your zip code. But with LifeLock, they’ll alert you whenever someone new moves into your area.

Credit Score TrackingMonthly Credit Score Tracking

How it Protects – You receive a monthly single-bureau credit score to track any significant changes that happen over time.

  1. Bob Tilly says:

Honestly I think I would go with the $20 a month one, I would have to have credit card and bank account alerts.

  2. Andrea Robinson says:

I know someone who uses their standard coverage, and he’s happy with it, but I see some really compelling benefits in the Ultimate Plus membership, namely the bank account protection, investment protection, and file sharing protection. It’s hard to believe they offer all that, and I think it would really be the ultimate in peace of mind. On the other hand, you can get keyboard encryption with Identity Guard for an even lower monthly fee, so that seems like a good choice, too.

  3. Jim Liston says:

The Ultimate Plus package sounds amazing! The Investment Account Activity Alerts is something that I haven’t seen with other plans. I know someone who’s investment account was hacked and large amounts of cash were withdrawn from the account. It was several months later that they found out and it’s been a long and difficult task getting the money replaced. The $30 a month sounds pricey, but it would be well worth it for the peace of mind.

  4. Jennifer says:

This is one of the best identification protection services out there. I personally know people that have signed up for it and they rave about it. It seems like it would be a cost-effective purchase, considering how much it would cost not to have it when something does happen. You never know when someone will still your identity. It’s better to be protected to begin with.

  5. Jonathon Mason says:

I think the Advantage has all I need. The extras included in the Ultimate are a bit unneeded IMO.

  6. Thomas Peterlin says:

Lifelock is top notch. You get the most bang for your buck, even if you get the basic plan at 9.99 a month. My wife and I have this now. Their customer service is excellent.

  7. Madison Jade Knox says:

The basic plan has all I need, and it’s a really good price!!! I think I am going to choose this one. Lifelock is a great company, too, from what I’ve heard.

  8. Shalonda Gordon says:

Thank you for these details as I’m doing my research to determine which is the best service to consider for my family. I must say I’ve seen many of the LifeLock commercials.. and wondered if it was the leader in the industry. Yet after reading this article, I have a better understanding. One thing I do appreciate is how you posted the disclaimer about how “no one can prevent ALL identity theft”. I believe the fact that LifeLock states this up front shows a level of integrity and truth.. I wonder how safe the “cloud” is for the credit cards. Call me old school… yet I’m not at a point where I’m ready to pull up my credit cards on my phone.. yet I’m sure those days are coming.. Thanks again for the detailed information.. keep smiling

  9. Anansi White says:

I know some friends that use Lifelock and they are satisfied with the service. I myself use Identity Guard which is perfect for me and my
business needs. I would think the Advantage Membership would be the ideal coverage if I ever switched to this company for my personl identity theft
protection, but if I wanted this to also cover my business I would have to pony up the $29.99/month to get the needed coverage. For people that are business
owners, or if you do a lot of online shopping you should invest in identity theft protection. Its better to be safe than sorry!

  10. papersoul says:

I like the different options that are offered and the prices seem pretty decent for the features. I think I’d go with the 10 or $20 plan myself. There are a few things about the Ultimate package that I like but not ten extra dollars worth. Most of them just seem like extra fluff that probably aren’t used by many, but maybe that’s just me.

  11. Lejla Qerimi says:

Now we have the best chance ever possible to avoid the mysteries and dangers of identity theft.
All this requires strong action by professionals like you, i appreciate the quality of services provided by you to prevent privacy abuses. LifeLock is the most appropriate choice for each individual who does not have time and money to lose. With lifelock services i feel quieter and more secure,it will take the necessary action
to help replace lost or stolen all important cards such as credit or debit cards, driver’s licenses, insurance cards,Social Security ect. Services are very reliable,on time and in right place. One of the most adequate products is LifeLock Ultimate Plus which has an exceptionally well offers.

  12. katylady77 says:

This seems like an awesome deal! I really like the cloud storage, it gives easy access to information I need. That way I don’t have to dig through my stack of papers to find something that i need!

  13. katylady77 says:

I just wanted to stop by and let you know that I signed up! Also, spoke to customer service and they are great! Polite and quick!

  14. Furkan Gülle says:

Soon I’m gonna be a father and I’m planning of getting lifelock junior package for my kid in the future. The wallet feature seems great. Having an access to all of my card info from my smartphone is exciting to me.

  15. Jennifer says:

I know someone that has the ultimate package. They say that it is well worth the money. Nothing is better than a good night’s sleep and that’s what you get when your identity is protected. Secure your family by protecting their identity. They’ll thank you later on for it.

  16. LilyJane says:

WOW! Lifelock program sounds amazing! It looks like you can protect almost everything in your life now – even the wallet, which brings many problems if you lose it. That is so comfortable for people that everything is taken care of! Thank you for this service!

  17. Jayson Stonewaller says:

I have been a subscriber to Life Lock for about 4 years and it was not until my wife had her credit messed up that I really took a long look at things like this. Even with the standard coverage, LifeLock is well worth the price and it does give you a warm fuzzy feeling to say the least about it. Where else are you going to get a $1 million service guarantee.

  18. Ghem Pantollano says:

This must be include in my bucketlist to have right now. The ultimate plus package coverage is awesome. it can detect suspicious activities which you’ll know immediately because they will access your account and alert you. It lives you comfortable and convenient with these.

  19. James says:

Lifelock program looks marvelous. I very much liked the various options that are posed and the rates look pretty considerate for the kind of features offered.

  20. Jackie Wang says:

Wow! The Ultimate Plus membership is so comprehensive! I’m actually shocked by all the different ways we can be vulnerable while cruising online. Black market website monitoring? Bank account takeover notifications? This is some next level technology here. I’ve been reading reviews for the other companies and I think this one is almost over the top. I can’t imagine just an average Joe needing the Ultimate Plus protection but maybe someone more high profile could benefit from this company’s services.

  21. Ramona G says:

Another worthy choice for identity theft protection. I really do appreciate that the plans are very affordable, and even the standard membership offers a fair amount of coverage. Now looking over it again I see there’s a Lifelock Jr. feature. Quite alarming that our children are subject to identity theft as well.

  22. Sandy Arora says:

It is with great peace of mind that I write this review. Earlier this holiday season I experienced a attempt by some one to take out a loan in my name. LifeLock alerted me to the activity, I was able to see that this was not me, Life Lock followed it up and nipped the application attempt in the bud! The fee for this service is a small price to pay for the peace of mind I receive everyday knowing I’m protected. Thank You!

  23. Carlie Stevenson, PhD says:

I know some people who have this, and they’re happy with it. It’s kind of amazing to me how these very reputable companies can offer this protection for such a low price! 🙂

  24. Jesse Yusufu says:

I know it’s difficult to take risk, but Life lock give us more
security, good services and more about related life lock. Life Lock
improve quality day by day they know they are responsible for our life
so they give us good quality service and every day they improve
security option to protect people life.

  25. Wendy Atkins says:

We’ve had the Ultimate service for years, since my divorce. And it has been a lifesaver! And since I had 2 children with my ex, we also got the junior memberships to keep an eye out for their info….because their biological father has a very bad habit of obtaining bad credit. And we certainly do not need to find out when they get older that he has messed with their credit, as he does unfortunately have their social security number and other pertinent info. And we all know how some adults will use their childrens’ info. Better safe than sorry. And though it does seem to be a senseless expense….for $6 extra dollars, it is not a bad deal at all.

  26. Maddie Mahoney says:

Good to know and very useful, of course. This is one of the companies that I’ve been looking into and the information you have given is exactly what I needed to know. Thanks for the help and advice!

  27. No Identity Theft says:

Hi Andrea, the Ultimate Plus membership is definitely the most comprehensive. It covers you from A-Z. It is a bit expensive at $29.99 a month so it prices a lot of people out from getting it. It’s meant for people who have multiple assets and need extra protection to keep their financials safe. The only downer for this premium membership is you don’t receive all 3 credit bureau scores, you only get one. For that price, you should get all three.

  28. No Identity Theft says:

Hi Bob, we personally believe The Standard plan ($19.99) is the best value as well. It is the most affordable for the masses. It covers most types of assets and still protects you with LifeLock’s patented technology.

  29. No Identity Theft says:

Exactly Sandy!! That is why we think identity theft protection should be bought by everyone. It’s like not having car insurance. You don’t plan on ever getting into an accident, but aren’t you glad that you are covered for all the costs by being insured? And isn’t it worth paying your monthly fee so you won’t get stuck with thousands of dollars in repairs? Same thing goes with this service. It’s worth paying the nominal fee to have that peace of mind.

  30. No Identity Theft says:

You are on it Jackie. The Ultimate Plus membership is for those with high profiles with multiple assets. It’s over the top but it covers all the angles to protect from identity thieves. An average Joe is better off getting the Standard or Advantage plans. They are affordable and still do a great job at protecting its members.

  31. No Identity Theft says:

LifeLock is a wonderful company that does a great job protecting its members. They have a perfect record with the BBB and has multiple accolades for its identity theft protection services. We love how there are 3 different options for protection depending where one is in their life. It has a basic coverage plan that is very affordable at $9.99 a month all the way to someone who is established in their lives and needs the comprehensive protection at $29.99 a month. I hope you pick the one that works best for you James.

  32. No Identity Theft says:

Hi Jim! Most companies don’t have investment account alerts. LifeLock offers it for people who have more assets to protect. It’s a wonderful perk to take advantage of when you have a high net worth. It’s worth paying the $29.99 a month fee to protect large sums of money that are in investment accounts. Peace of mind is worth paying for if you know your assets are safe.

  33. No Identity Theft says:

Glad you found our review helpful Maddie. We try to give people as much information as possible so they can make the best educated decision that suits them best. LifeLock allows people to choose a plan that is right for them no matter where they are financially. I recommend the Advantage plan because it’s the meat and potatoes of the membership. If you need more protection, you can always upgrade to the Ultimate Plus, or if you need just basic protection, you can always go with the Standard plan.

  34. No Identity Theft says:

Hi Wendy, that is the first time I have ever heard someone getting LifeLock because they didn’t trust their ex with their children’s credit. But I understand and that makes sense. Children are the fastest growing population of getting their identity stolen. And like you said, they usually don’t know that they had been a victim until many years after the incident when they are an adult. Thanks for sharing.

  35. Chris D. says:

Lifelock Wallet seems like a really great idea. How does it differ from something like the Wallet app on iPhone, which also stores credit card information so that it’s accessible via phone? Is it just the ability to add different types of cards, like insurance? I like the idea of Lifelock wallet, I just can’t tell how different it is from what I already have on my phone.

  36. Marc B. says:

Right off the bat, it’s evident that the LifeLock is geared towards people who are more investment-savvy. Looking at the features of the Ultimate Plus membership, it’s clear that those with multiple investments or assets could really benefit from this service. I like the investment account activity alert because the person is immediately alerted for any sign of fraudulent activity involving an investment or retirement account. This is a fantastic feature because these accounts are usually targetted because they tend to have larger funds.

I personally don’t think I need this premiere service at this point, but who knows, maybe in the future. I’m sure that it’s something that I’d definitely consider when I’ve amassed enough assets.

  37. No Identity Theft says:

Yes Jesse, LifeLock helps protect you and gives you peace of mind. The quality of your day will naturally be better because you have one less thing to worry about. There are over 16 million victims of identity theft in the US every year, it’s a shame that people don’t take it more seriously. You are taking a risk every day by not having your identity monitored by a company like LifeLock.

  38. Kimberly Norman says:

I agree with Andrea. It seems that the Ultimate Plus would be the best option for someone. I do like that their child protection plan is cheaper than some of the others that I’ve seen. I appreciate the added security Lifelock offers in storing privileged information on a separate server. I also noticed they said they offer credit stores in-app for 99 cents, very convenient.

  39. Joy M says:

I chose Lifelock because I liked knowing that all of my information was being kept securely somewhere else, just in case, there was any issue or challenge. I also appreciate being able to talk to a real live person, day or night, whenever I needed them or just had a question. Lifelock also has 3 layers of protection and they guard against anything that they see as suspicious (it’s always better to be safe than sorry). Most companies also don’t go the extra step in protecting your bank accounts and investments. Lifelock is truly the best choice for me!

  40. Jenny says:

Looks like some great options for kids — how important is it to protect kids from identity theft? It doesn’t seem like they have that much to lose…financially anyways.

  41. No Identity Theft says:

Hi Jenny, most people don’t know that kids are the fastest growing segment of the population that are getting their identity stolen. They are easy targets because they won’t know their identity has been compromised until they are an adult once they start applying for credit. So in the meantime, an identity thief can take the identity of a child and run a muck without any consequences and nobody will ever know what happened until many years down the road.

  42. No Identity Theft says:

Yes Kimberly, the Ultimate Plus definitely offers the most comprehensive coverage and will monitor you from all different directions. It’s a plan for more established people who have multiple assets. The LifeLock Jr. plan is priced very well and does a good job of monitoring them. LifeLock’s app is probably the best on the market and has great benefits like the .99$ credit score.

  43. No Identity Theft says:

You hit it right on the head Marc. The Ultimate Plus membership is designed for that exact segment of people. It’s for people who have higher net worths and multiple assets to monitor. The great thing about LifeLock is that they cater to people in all kinds of income brackets. From people who are bargain hunting at $9.99 a month all the way to people with high net worth values at $29.99 per month.

  44. No Identity Theft says:

Hi Chris, LifeLock wallet not only stores all your credit cards and such, but if you ever have your wallet stolen or lose it, LifeLock will do all the paperwork and make the proper phone calls to get everything replaced. It’s a major convenience so you don’t have to scramble trying to call each and every company.

  45. No Identity Theft says:

Hey Carlie, I think it’s a wonderful product to have to protect yourself. I am glad you think the same way too. I would rather pay a small monthly fee to have the peace of mind knowing that I don’t have to worry about my identity becoming compromised. And if anything does happen, I have the protection of LifeLock’s $1 Million guarantee where they will pay for any legal service to bring my credit profile back to where it was before the breach.

  46. No Identity Theft says:

Hi Ramona, a great benefit of LifeLock is that there multiple price points to choose from depending where you are in your life. It has basic coverage if you are single and still young with limited assets – to having a family and multiple assets which need more comprehensive protection.

  47. No Identity Theft says:

You are right Jayson, even for the standard coverage it’s worth having the $1 million service guarantee. But you also get so much more and that’s why it’s such a great service to be a member of. The peace of mind knowing that someone is there watching out for you and will take care of everything if there happens to be a breach is wonderful.

  48. No Identity Theft says:

LifeLock wallet is one of my favorite perks of being a member LilyJane. You not only get lost wallet protection, but you also get cloud storage for all your cards, and you can obtain your credit score for .99 cents. It’s a solid product that is really convenient to have in your phone.

  49. No Identity Theft says:

Yes Jennifer! The Ultimate Plus membership is the most comprehensive in the industry. It will monitor you from all angles. It gives you the peace of mind knowing that your identity is well monitored across the board. If you can afford the price tag of $29.99 per month, I definitely recommend it.

  50. No Identity Theft says:

Congrats Furkan!! You are a smart man to get LifeLock Jr. for your child. As we have stated on our site, child identity theft is becoming more and more of a problem. Children our easy targets for identity thieves, so by having your child monitored, you will be rest assured that when he/she grows up and applies for credit, they won’t have to worry if someone had compromised their identity years ago.

  51. No Identity Theft says:

Nice Katy!! I am so happy you made the decision to get protected. It’s a smart move on your behalf. You will notice that the customer service reps are really good and friendly.

  52. No Identity Theft says:

I love the cloud storage as well Katy. You don’t have to carry your medical insurance cards, car insurance cards, majority of your credit cards, or other misc cards that take up space in your wallet. It’s so convenient to be able to access them in an app in your phone.

  53. No Identity Theft says:

It’s really nice knowing that there are services like LifeLock out there to watch out for us. Individually, we can’t monitor all the different sites out there on the internet that could potentially hurt our identities. LifeLock gives us peace of mind so we can continue to live our lives without the constant worry of being taken advantage by identity thieves.

  54. No Identity Theft says:

You are exactly right, most people don’t need the Ultimate Plus membership. That is for people who have higher net worths that have multiple assets that need to be monitored as well. LifeLock Advantage membership gives the best bang for your buck in my opinion. At $19.99 you get all the protection you would ever need.

  55. No Identity Theft says:

Thanks for your honesty Anansi! I think both LifeLock and Identity Guard have wonderful products. I believe that each company has it’s own pros and cons of membership. It just depends on the individual and how it works best for them. For credit monitoring and receiving scores, Identity Guard is the superior product, but for monitoring in general I would have to give it to LifeLock. It all comes down to what your preferences are.

  56. No Identity Theft says:

So glad you found our review so helpful Shalonda! That is so true, that no one can prevent all identity theft. But wouldn’t you rather have someone there to help you and take care of all the heavy lifting if you do fall victim to identity theft? I sure would! It’s always better to be safe than sorry. As for the cloud, I have found it to be pretty secure. I know you aren’t accustomed to it, but get ready, everything is going in that direction. Might as well get some practice with the app!!

  57. No Identity Theft says:

Hi Madison! The Standard membership does all the basics for you. If you don’t care to get your credit score or the extra bells and whistles, then that is the membership for you. For $9.99 a month it’s pretty much a no brainer for all that you do receive.

  58. No Identity Theft says:

Hi Joy, LifeLock is awesome that they have customer service available 24/7. Not all identity theft protection companies offer such a great service. Since you have investments, the Platinum Plus membership is exactly what you need. I think you made a great choice.

  59. No Identity Theft says:

Hi Ansasi, every service will cater differently to different people. For some, it will be LifeLock that fits into a person’s lifestyle. For others like yourself, Identity Guard is the right fit. If you like getting credit scores and reports often, then I would recommend Identity Guard. If you like that LifeLock offers 1 trillion data points to protect you, then go with them. Everyone is different and that’s why it’s great to see different companies offer different services.

  60. No Identity Theft says:

Yes Thomas, LifeLock is top notch. They are a very good company that does offer great bang for your buck. Their customer service representatives are based in the US and have won awards for their exemplary customer service. Glad you are a happy customer!

  61. No Identity Theft says:

The advantage membership has everything that you need. It’s priced great and you are covered from many angles. In my opinion, it’s the best deal that LifeLock offers. The Ultimate Plus has a bunch of extras that majority of people don’t need unless they have assets to protect.

  62. No Identity Theft says:

You know people that signed up, but what about you Jennifer? Why aren’t you getting this awesome service? I think you should try it out and see how you like it. I bet you won’t be disappointed.

  63. Bronwyn says:

Though ranked high, it is not as high as some other options on this site which makes me question the differences between others and Lifelock. Although the wallet feature sound interesting, I am not so sure how I feel about having digital copies of my credit cards accessible from the internet. In an ever-changing accessible digital world, this may be even more of a risk to people trying to prevent themselves from identity theft. How can we be so sure this is the safer option?

  64. Hannah Stein says:

You’re so right that identity theft never rests, so it’s great to see a company who works so hard to be available at all hours no matter what. I had a problem with one of my credit cards one day, a purchase was made not by me, so I called my coverage and it took me two whole hours to get through to someone! To me that’s one of the biggest things I look for when choosing a company like this, because if they can’t be reached what good are they doing me? I also love the fact you get free iCloud storage for all of your important cards that’s completely protected. I love iCloud and find it so incredibly convenient, but I’m always a little concerned that my documents aren’t necessarily safe there, so I usually shy away from doing that, so I think it’s great that LifeLock offers this!

  65. Clark says:

    Two questions:
    1. What does the “junior” level lifelock account for $5 actually give my child? Seems like just a way to rope more people in and squeeze a few bucks. Then again, I’m not really super savvy on the whole identity theft thing so I might be drastically overlooking something.
    2. You mentioned being able to check my credit score from the app, does that actually count against my credit score in the long run? I know if you run too many reports it can negatively impact it.

  66. Clark says:

I was kinda worried about that too. Seems like having a digital wallet would actually make it more easy for someone to get ahold of my stuff.

  67. Ernie Burgher says:

I personally think LifeLock is not getting the attention and credit it deserves. Our lives are more digital than ever, from work, shopping, learning, transactions and communication. All these activities need adequate protection; we shouldn’t only keep our valuables in a safe but make sure the safe is good enough to protect our valuables. That is why regular passwords and codes would never do it; LifeLock is the adequate safe we really need. Putting our lives in the hands of professionals is really worth while, it takes the stress away; we
even have someone else to blame if things go bad. Making it a win win for us.

It is impressive to know that LifeLock evolves as cyber transactions evolve. From cloud storage, wallet and phone protection, which are very vital in guaranteeing our privacy which is constantly attacked. The $ 1million total service guarantee, I find it to be a sign of good faith and a mark of professionalism, I really
appreciate it. The services offered by LifeLock makes the price an absolute bargain. Thank you LifeLock

  68. Nathan says:

Awesome service and very detailed review. I use Advantage Membership for $19.99, price looks really fair. I love LifeLock’s Wallet feature, very helpful. Right now I’m thinking about Ultimate Plus. I want to have a full protect my business too. (I do a lot of online shopping transaction). Nothing is better than a good sleep and feels safe. PS. Very polite customer service

  69. Leo says:

I find LifeLock wallet feature too good, as it has digital copies of my credit, debit cards. By this I am sure that my important information is fairly safe on some other place (cloud) and I can access it from anywhere even from my smart phone and when I will be accessing this the information will be encrypted Wow! That’s the protection I require.

  70. Jerome Walker says:

Looking at the statistics there are milions of people in the US every year facing identity theft , makes you wonder why people wont take it more seriously. Personally the Advantage Membership is perfect for me , its affordable , has the features i need , bank account activity alerts and much more.

  71. Erica says:

I have to be honest. I have no faith in items in the “clouds”, hackers are just so brilliant and wicked. However the positives overshadow the negatives. For instance, what I like is the $1 million privacy guarantee, the A+ score from BBB, and the many customizable options for singles and families. As I’ve stated before in another post, If I were to choose a company to trust, I will definitely choose something like this. And the value seems great.

  72. Alexa Cress says:

I wish that the video would have worked! I’m a visual learner so this could have answered some of my questions pertaining to the product. After comparing the $9.99 and the $19.99 I really don’t feel as if there is enough of an advantage to make me spend the extra money. That being said the Ultimate plan sounds like an amazing plan which covers absolutely everything. It seems the more evolved we become with technology the more important coverage like this would be.. A great idea for anyone! I’m curious if this is just for US Citizens?

  73. Ameen Grg says:

I have heard much about lifelock services. Unfortunately, it’s more of negative news. Couple of years back, news was asserted by FTC on lifelock’s for making deceptive claims about it’s ID protection services. But this review pours down a different story. I can clearly see that it uses more advanced technology than most of its competitors. Features like bank account protection, investment protection, cloud storage takes it to a different level though. Nice Work 🙂

  74. Justice Samantha says:

If the ultimate plus membership covers bank account protection, investment protection and file sharing protection all for $29.99 i see no reason why i should chose the standard plan for $19.99. come on people is just a $10 difference. i know all fingers are not equal but lets not allow $10 be the reason why our information get exposed.

  75. Kelly Sheldrick says:

I’m totally with you Jerome – the Advantage Membership option is a great option for me as well. It’s definitely within my budget and covers everything I need, such as the Credit Card and Bank Account Activity Alerts, plus it has a live support team (nothing is worse than having issues or questions and not being able to get in contact with an actual person to discuss you options).

  76. Phoebe Abilene says:

My parents use Lifelock and are pleased with their services. I’m not sure which plan they have but they’ve been with Lifelock for years. Identity theft is one of those things that you just can’t ignore the frightening reality that it could happen to you or your child. My parents suggested your site to check up on reviews on the various types of identity theft protection services and I’m so glad I found you – this review is so comprehensive, and has helped me to clarify my thoughts and direct my decision. I’ve got it down to two choices. Lifelock is one of them!

  77. Grace J. says:

Love that this company has a data breach notifications. It was scary when it happened to Target and all of these other big companies. I shop there all the time and I was one of lucky people who just happened to pay cash during this breach. But cash is a hassle all the time and I don’t few safe carrying it on me. I think the $20 plan is the best for me. I can’t afford something major to happen to me and I can give up a night out a month to cover the cost. 🙂

  78. No Identity Theft says:

Very glad to hear that you found the LifeLock review helpful. In my opinion, it’s a touch decision to choose between LifeLock and Identity Guard. They both offer really comprehensive services, it just comes to which will benefit you better in the way you live your life.

  79. No Identity Theft says:

It depends on where you are at in life Justice. If you don’t have investment accounts and large amounts of money in your savings, then I really don’t see a reason to spend an additional $10 a month for it. But if you are someone who has a higher net worth then I say go for it.

  80. No Identity Theft says:

They had a couple issues in the past but have persevered from their mistakes and moved forward. That is what it’s important when trusting a company, they learn from their errors and prove to their members that they will adjust and do better in the future. It’s all about how they react to an issue and how they make sure they fix the problem.

  81. No Identity Theft says:

Yeah Alexa, LifeLock pulled that video from Youtube. We have put a new video as of yesterday. I am visual learner as well along with most the population. That’s why Youtube is the #2 search engine now, people want to see things, not just read about them. As for your question, you need a social security number to be a member. Also, if the member does not live in the U.S. for six months consecutively, then the LifeLock membership will become invalid. Hope that helps!

  82. No Identity Theft says:

Hi Erica, unfortunately everything is going towards the “cloud.” There is so much information that all companies are moving in that direction. Sorry to tell you that, but it’s the truth and it’s going to happen. All the more reason to get some identity theft protection so you are monitored at all times.

  83. No Identity Theft says:

So true Jerome. You see it in the news and in your news feed daily of how identity theft is occurring everywhere around us. People need to make it a priority and make sure they stay aware of their surroundings.

  84. No Identity Theft says:

I agree with you Kelly. Nothing is worse than having the worst customer service representatives trying to resolve your issue. LifeLock has an award winning team that is based here in the US. Rest assured, you will have people that speak English as their primary language and can cater to your needs.

  85. No Identity Theft says:

The LifeLock wallet feature is great! I love how their are digital copies of all your cards in there. You won’t have to carry all of them in your wallet. Being able to get your credit score through the app is awesome as well.

  86. No Identity Theft says:

They are one of the leaders in the industry because of their thoroughness with their protection. They get it and they understand how everything is moving towards the cloud. Their leaders are looking at the future to make sure their members are protected now and moving forward.

  87. No Identity Theft says:

Hi Clark, the identities of children are stolen more often than you think. Identity thieves know they can use a child’s information for years before being identified. Children are the fastest growing segment of the population that is being targeted. It’s not a rope to squeeze a few more bucks. It’s a legitimate concern. As for your second question, if you run your credit every once and a while, your credit score will not be affected. It’s when you run your credit multiple times within a short period of time that it goes down slightly.

  88. No Identity Theft says:

It’s a great service Hannah. I love that everything is secured in the cloud. They understand that the cloud will be used by everyone in the near future. I really like how they are tech friendly since everything is moving in that direction.

  89. No Identity Theft says:

LifeLock has one of the most secure encryptions out there. It would be very difficult for hackers to get into their database and stealing people’s info. I am not saying it’s impossible, but highly unlikely. I don’t know if you remember, but the former CEO of LifeLock used to post his social security # for everyone to see and he dared people to steal his identity. That is how confident the company is with their service. So even if their database does theoretically get broken into, you are still monitored and will be alerted if anyone tries to steal anything from you.

  90. Adam Baker says:

In all honesty the $19.99 is most appealing to my situation and my family, I think just the fact that I can now receive notifications to my mobile if any activity was to occur is the biggest bonus not to mention the extra security for my Social Security number, not something I was familiar about until I used this service.

Anyone looking to get Real protection by a company that shows real interest in clients.. look no further! they respond right away and help deal with you almost as if you was the only client.

  91. Piper Stewart says:

As I’m just now getting out on my own and starting to build my credit, one thing my parents did for me is to get me the Ultimate Plus….as I do have a good paying job and am trying to establish good credit. My parents feel it’s a worthwhile investment and they will pay for the next 3 years. And better safe than sorry. They’ve had it for years and have never had any issues with their credit whatsoever. It’s a small investment when it can affect your whole life.

  92. Erica says:

Hi! I totally agree with you on that one. That’s why I would choose this company. Most of my digital products like music and books are in the cloud already. I first noticed the trend and was a little skeptical, but that’s just how it is. Thanks for the response!

  93. kathleen wallace says:

This seems like a great program and I will probably going with the ultimate plus membership. I really appreciate that you cover lost cell phones and that you cover a secure cloud to protect my online financial info. Great program thanks!

  94. No Identity Theft says:

I want to commend your parents Piper. I wish my parents had done that for me. You are on the right track for keeping your credit and identity safe. We need more of the youth to be like you. Thanks for sharing.

  95. shanehubbard says:

My brother in law got this for him and his family and he loves it. He ended up getting the ultimate plus membership for two very specific reasons, 1. He wanted access to the sex offender registry (they have two small children 3 and 5), 2. He wanted to be able to track his credit score easily as he is in the process of trying to rebuild it. That being said, when he originally told me he bought it, he told me if I was to get it, I should just get the $20/month month since I don’t have small kids. I do like the ability to have credit score reports available to me as I am trying to make sure my credit stays in check, and this package allows me to do that. The $10 a month plan is great if all you need is protection/assistance with identity theft. While I have been on the fence about something like this, I think I will go with Lifelock after looking around and not being impressed with some of the other companies I have seen. Between their great customer service when I called to ask questions and my brother in law’s recommendation, I will be buying from them very soon.

  96. Brandy says:

I love that LifeLock has so many options available, the one part of this service that stands out to me is the ability to receive text messages. I know that I am more apt to read a text message alert than email or other method and so I love that LifeLock is up to par with the latest in technology to notify you of any security threat in a method that works for everyone. I think I would try out the LifeLock Advantage Membership as it is the middle ground plan to allow me to see how LifeLock can make my life better!

  97. Violeta Constantin says:

Wow I’m so glad I stumbled upon this. I wish I had it available back before my identity was stolen. That was not fun to deal with let me tell ya. I wasn’t aware of all the identity theft that was going on online but now that I know, I can finally do something to prevent it from happening again! Unfortunately most people don’t think to sign up until something happens to them, but nowadays I like to say “better safe than sorry”. It’s a small price to pay for feeling safe, ya know?

  98. Anas says:

Life lock is a great program. I love this company. It is a wonderful company that does a great job protecting its members.Life lock has so many options and it offers a great service. They have customer service available 24/7.
I am a Security Researcher so I recommended you Life lock because it secure your identity .

  99. Angela Christu says:

I literally just spent hours dealing with police reports, and department store management trying to rectify the theft and use of a stolen credit card. It was extremely burdensome, inconvenient, and put my business back financially until it was completely resolved as I no longer had access to that credit card! I wish I had known about this company before all this happened, it would have saved me a lot of time and disarray. Great plans, great prices, and great for peace of mind! Lifelock is a good choice for protection.

  100. Kamila says:

Hi, thank you for this review. I was wondering how exactly the LifeLock cloud storage system works. If I store my cards and documents there to access them from my smart phone, how exactly does it protect me from identity theft, or is it just made for convenience? Thanks.

  101. Kamila says:

That’s right. Reading your articles was an eye-opener to me. I wasn’t aware that identity theft was happening on such a grand scale. Now I’m finding myself reading through your reviews to choose the best data protection plan for my family. Yesterday, it was the last thing on my mind!

  102. Kamila says:

Wow, that seems like a great option, I haven’t seen other companies apart from LifeLock offering a similar service, are there any? It really makes your life so much easier when you suddenly lose all your cards at once.

  103. Pam says:

After going through Identity theft, putting all the pieces back together again, and looking for the best theft protection out there this review definitely has made me put LifeLock as my top choice. It is a bit expensive but it’s no comparison to how much it costs to deal with identity theft to begin with. I really like how everything is listed out in different ways and shows the comparison of the plans so I can pick what is best for me. Thanks guys!

  104. No Identity Theft says:

Getting your identity stolen sucks! I know how you feel Pam, it happened to me too. It’s such a hassle to deal with all credit card companies and agencies that you need to contact on a perpetual basis. It’s nice to know that LifeLock will do all of it for you with one phone call. Nothing can replace your time, so I am glad to pay someone to take care of everything for me if something happens.

  105. No Identity Theft says:

You are welcome Kamila. The cloud service is for your convenience. You are able to pull up cards like (medical insurance, social security card, car insurance, etc). It has made my wallet much lighter and thinner. It’s a wonderful perk that most identity theft companies don’t have.

  106. No Identity Theft says:

I wish I had known about them too when I was taken advantage of. Some instances, you can spend over 100 hours trying to rectify your situation and bring your identity back to where it was before the intrusion. I am glad to pay the nominal fee of $20-30 a month not to ever have to deal with that mess again. Take advantage of the discount you get through signing up through us and see how you like it.

  107. No Identity Theft says:

It’s always better to be safe than sorry Violeta. I subscribe to that plan in life. You never know what kind of curveball is going to be thrown at you, so you might as well want to keep yourself protected for any unforeseen incident that occurs. I hope you enjoy the service and keep me posted on how everything goes.

  108. No Identity Theft says:

LifeLock is known for their advanced technology. They have over 1 trillion data points that keep an eye on your identity. Nobody else in the business can say that. Their mobile app is really convenient to use as well. It’s a great service for more tech savvy individuals. You will benefit from their service for sure.

  109. No Identity Theft says:

Hey Shane. They have award winning customer service specialists that are based in the U.S. It’s always nice to know that they are available 24/7 to help you at any moment when you are in need. I like the $19.99 plan ($17.99 through us) because it gives you everything you need to be protected. The platinum plus is geared towards people who have multiple assets or have families. You can’t go wrong with any plan, you just need to choose the one that caters to your needs the most.

  110. Mark Munro says:

LifeLock has been an incredible advantage for me. It is critical in today’s world to have their service. They have more than 700 US-based ID Protection Agents. I was recently approached to apply for another credit card; After returning home, I got an email and a call from LifeLock asking me if I had indeed applied for a card. Fabulous service! I feel it is justified regardless of whatever the expense to keep your credit ensured. I would suggest this service to anybody as they have a plan for every budget.

  111. Glenn Watson says:

Lifelock is for those living in fear of losing everything they have to fraudsters. I think LifeLock is providing really amazing services. LifeLock’s Wallet feature seems excellent it lets you make digital copies of your credit, debit card, ID, and other important cards. No wonder it is Award winner for 2015 Best ID Protection. Monthly credit score tracking and bank account alerts seem superb in ultimate plus service.

  112. J. Paul says:

This is the name you always hear, so Lifelock is the company I researched first. I can’t say anything bad about Lifelock as an option, but thanks to your other reviews I was able to find the company that offered everything I needed but $10 cheaper. If I’d been looking for the whole deal with the absolute most coverage, I probably would have gone with Lifelock though.

  113. Mohit says:

I want to take this opportunity to share my experience of using lifelock with you all.if you’re anxious to keep your information secure, but get frustrated with all the technical stuff like me…Lifelock is for you. I am very much satisfied by the services provided by the lifelock. The comprehensive monitoring of your financial activity and personal information plus the monthly updates to my credit scores and reports with email and sms notification is really robust. I really appreciate the sterling splendid customer service which you guys provide. thanks.

  114. No Identity Theft says:

Thanks for your comment Mohit. LifeLock is a solid company to be a member of with its superior technology and monitoring services. There is a reason why there are currently over 4 million clients they serve for their protection needs. Their customer service is second none, and it’s proven because they have won awards for their customer service.

  115. No Identity Theft says:

You are right with seeing LifeLock everywhere. They have commercials, their own channel on cable services, constant internet banners, etc. They have exposure through every advertising medium. In my opinion, it’s neck and neck with Identity Guard. They both have their pros and cons but it depends which service suits your needs the most. I am glad the you found the reviews so helpful and helped you make a decision.

  116. No Identity Theft says:

Hi Glenn. None of us needs to live in fear for our own identity. LifeLock offers multiple benefits that can help you with peace of mind. LifeLock Wallet is the best lost/stolen wallet protection in the entire industry. I love how you can download all your cards so you don’t have to carry them around all the time. It’s a wonderful perk to have.

  117. No Identity Theft says:

I love the instant alert feature if your credit has been ran. It allows you to not have to worry about your identity since you know you will be notified if your credit is ran. It gives you a sense of safety and that you are watched over.

  118. No Identity Theft says:

I am glad the reviews and articles are helping your become aware Kamila. There was some shadiness going on with bank tellers and them selling customers’ info to identity thieves for serious money. It’s always good to keep your eyes and ears open.

  119. No Identity Theft says:

Most identity theft protection companies offer lost wallet protection. But LifeLock definitely sets themselves apart with their LifeLock Wallet feature. Theirs is by far the easiest to use and most accessible one through your mobile phone.

  120. ChristinS says:

I’ve heard of Lifelock before and I appreciate the detailed review and overview. What struck me the most is the LifeLock Jr. membership add on. I have never considered the idea that my kids identities could be stolen. My oldest son is 16 and about to start his first job – would this really be worthwhile? I always thought it would be impossible for someone to open a fraudulent account with the SS# of someone under 18. Perhaps I’ve been a bit too lax in my assumptions. I dealt with ID theft from a distant relative years ago and it was a real mess trying to sort that out. I want to ensure no one in my family goes through that again.

  121. No Identity Theft says:

Hi Christin. Yes, if I was you, I would definitely get LifeLock Jr. for your child. Especially since your son will be getting his own bank account and getting a credit card soon. It never hurts to be cautious. At $5.99 per month, it’s worth being monitored for any surprises that may arise.

  122. Adeks Corede says:

Identity theft is a real and growing threat, but most people are unaware of this fact. Identity thefts occur in places you don’t even expect. Thanks to LifeLock, I can now relax knowing that I’m covered and there is one less thing to worry about when transacting online both on my computer and phones. I started with the 30-days free trial and I was more than happy to switch to the Ultimate Plus membership package, as it’s worth every penny paid.

  123. No Identity Theft says:

Hi Adeks, I love that LifeLock gives 30 days for free so you can try out their service. The ultimate plus membership is the top tier membership you can get with any company. It has you covered from multiple angles. You definitely get the best peace of mind with that plan. I am so glad you are happy with it.

  124. Dee Francis says:

A couple of years ago, someone took 1,000 USD from my credit account without my knowledge and it is one of the most traumatizing experiences in my life, not to mention humiliating. I was broke for a while and that money in my card was my last resort. It was hard that I just lost my job when that happened to me as well. It took a while before I was able to get back on my feet. I called the credit card company when I received my statement saying I owe them that amount. They said those were all valid purchases, so there is nothing they can do about it. TRAUMATIZING! After that, I knew I had to do something so this won’t happen again. I’m so glad I discovered Lifelock! This product is such a lifesaver that it would notify you via text or email if someone were trying to use your credit card. Boy you would be surprise on how many thieves are out there! This is more convenient because you could quickly respond with your phone with you all the time. And if you ever lost your credit card or debit card, they will do everything to help you retrieve it. Their customer service will not fail you! Seriously, this product is so awesome! Definitely worth spending for!

  125. Cesar R. says:

Let me begin by saying that LifeLock to me seemed like it would be a service very very expensive… NOT! I was amazed at how I was able to get protection for a very low price. Of course, there are different prices starting at $8.99 and up to $26.99 per month, you can choose the plan that best suits you, they are very inexpensive. If your identity gets stolen, there are 700 agents that work to get everything straight and clear things up for you so you recover your identity. I also really like how you can get alerts via text, email and phone. If you try the 30 day free trail, which is really great, you get a 10 % discount on your plan! I love feeling protected and knowing that if something suspicious happens LifeLock has your back. Plus, you get free secure cloud storage for your important documents and IDs, credit cards and even social security cards. All your sensitive information is safe with LifeLock. I definitely encourage everyone to give it a try with the free trial… you wont regret it!

  126. Seemi says:

I am a blogger and affiliate marketer. So all my workings and money related matters are online. Literally I live online, and I’m pretty nervous about some of the companies I hand personal information to. Lifelock has been invaluable to me. Last year I came across there trial offer and avail it. hadn’t found any issue with there service so decided to upgrade to the premium package for regular credit reports, alerts when certain details about my ID footprints change, and the ability to track details for other members of my family. Did you know that people open bank accounts using young people’s details because they know it’s unlikely those kids will be applying for their own credit for many years? I didn’t know that until I found out that it had actually happened to my teenage nephew.
So I referred lifelock to my sis and also make her add junior plan worth $5.99 for her son. Since then my sis and nephew feel themselves secure from any kinds of identity theft or frauds.

  127. Evan says:

Excellent follow-up for account inquiries. Team members sincerely have
protection of our personal interests as a #1 priority. However, Seniors
should have a discount, and a further allowance for multiple family
members included in the plan, when service rates are established each
    year.
I love the alerts. It just assures me that someone is always checking my
financial activities. Recently I was advised of a criminal moving into
my town. For someone with children this is so important.

  128. Shirley Ju says:

Honestly, never in my life did I think my identity would be stolen. I knew it existed, but never would it happen to me. I am so lucky to have come across LifeLock. I was hesitant to throw money on the matter, but it was well worth it. For 18 bucks a month, I was able to get the next to best plan. They were so supportive and readily available whenever I needed assistance. First of all, there’s a service guarantee, which makes you feel reassured from the very beginning. Second, any suspicious activity, and I get alerts straight to my phone. Third, I know if this were to happen again, LifeLock will do everything in their power to restore everything. Def give it 5 stars.

  129. No Identity Theft says:

I agree with you that seniors should have a discount. They are highly targeted by identity thieves because they tend to be more susceptible to falling for their schemes. I also agree that they should have discounts for adding multiple family members onto an account. I really like how LifeLock offers sex offender results so you can be aware of any potential threat to your loved ones. I also love their customer service team, they have won awards for providing the best service in the industry.

  130. No Identity Theft says:

Hey Seemi, child identity theft has become that fastest targeted segment of the population. You are exactly right, with kids, you won’t know they were a victim until many years down the road when they become an adult and want to apply for credit. It’s actually pretty sad how these identity thieves prey on innocent kids. I really think they should increase the penalties and time in jail for their actions.

  131. No Identity Theft says:

Thanks for your support and loving the service so much. LifeLock is one of the best in the business and that’s why they have over 4 million current members. I really like how any budget can get protection. LifeLock’s app is my favorite out of all its competitors. It’s the most user friendly and I love how you can save important documents onto your phone so you don’t have to carry them around. Huge plus.

  132. No Identity Theft says:

Hey Dee, I know what you mean by traumatizing. It really is, and it feels like you are violated. The text alerts are so great, it’s really nice to know that there is someone always looking out for you. It gives peace of mind so you don’t have to worry about things in your daily routine. We are already busy and stressed enough, and then having to worry about our identity shouldn’t be part of our daily lives.

  133. No Identity Theft says:

Yes Shirley, for such a small monthly investment, it allows you to feel safe knowing that you are being looked after. And if something does happen to go wrong, it’s great to know that they will take care of everything so you don’t have to waste your time with all the paperwork and phone calls. It can take months before that stuff gets resolved, and I don’t have the patience or time to waste on getting my identity back. Worth every penny.

  134. Wilbert Estrada says:

I don’t know if anyone of you guys knew this, but in 2014 alone, 7 out of 100 of us, age 16 or older, were victims of identity theft. According to the BJE Bureau of Justice Statistics: “The majority of identity theft victims (86%) experienced the fraudulent use of existing account information, such as credit card or bank account information” From what I understand, these statistics went up in 2015 and they seem to continue to go up as technology spreads more and more. This is according to the people that report their ordeal, but I read an article about a year ago, and not everybody does because there is a percentage of people whom identities have been stolen and don’t even know it. According to that article, which was from an authority site, it might take years for some people finding out that their information was stolen; this is the people with very little activity, such as senior citizens, people that might have gone to live abroad, etc.

This means that the statistic could well be up there on a 10% of the population whom are victims of identity theft and all related issues… that’s 10 out of 100. Well, I’m not taking any chances, I needed home protection, credit protection, and banking protection and I found Life Lock, which in my view, is the best company out there, after doing my research.

A few years ago, my brother had his identity stolen and on top of losing so much money and his credit, he spent thousands on legal issues; Life Locks offers a guarantee service that comes with 1 million dollars that will be used by the company on consultants, investigators, and lawyers in the event that any of their client’s identity is stolen. That alone is worth a lot of money, so in my humble opinion, Life Locks seems to be the best way to go!

So I’ve read a lot of interesting things about this LifeLock service. For example: this company
is 11 years in business, cooperation with FBI, purchasing of ID
Analytics (which is a big deal, by the way) and a lot more. And it is really
    impressive that LifeLock sells its
services so cheap. I was talking to some people, who uses LifeLock. Asked them and myself – What a
catch? And I didn’t find it so far.

    So LifeLock allows
for monthly updates on credit score, which is good to have if you are trying to
build a credit and want to keep track of progress. As a bonus to customary
identity theft protection monitoring, Lifelock can unsubscribe you from all garbage mail-lists and check a wide range of
your information, including driver’s license number and address changes. LifeLock also offers a 30-day free trial, which I’ve already used,
and now it’s time for me to buy a real identity protection.

Most of all in LifeLock I
impressed by Service Guarantee. They’ll spend one million dollars to pay
investigators and lawyers if any of your data would be stolen. If they’re
willing to pay so much money for their mistakes, they are quite confident in
themselves. It gives me confidence in them too. Also, I would like to notice,
that LifeLock is quite modern service. Just look at Personal ID
Geo-Tracking. Useful service, that available anytime, anywhere.

So I would like to summarize: LifeLock does a
perfect job of keeping my personal information safe from thieves. It uses a
five-point plan to check my private info and respond to potential threats. Also
it has twenty-four/seven help-center for members, that works fast and
perfectly. It could be something I have searched for. And one more: LifeLock is one
of the first in industry if not the first. What else to choose?

Hi Andrea… Yes, you’re right; it’s the ultimate in peace of mind to be able to sleep at night, knowing that your home, credit, bank account, etc. are safe… For just a few cents a day, it’s worth the investment!

I love that these LifeLock plans are so comprehensive! I honestly think that you can’t spend too much money on identity theft protection because once identify theft happens to you or your family, the cost of this type of service will seem like nothing compared to what you have to lose. My favorite is the LifeLock Ultimate Plus (even though it’s one of the more expensive plans they have to offer) because I love that it also includes Sex Offender Registry Reports. As a young woman, this has always been very important issue for me. Especially for families with small children, having this kind of alert with your plan has got to be a bonus..

  139. Tuesday says:

I am amazed at the coverage that the Ultimate Plus membership offers! Also, I really appreciate the reduced number of pre-approved credit card offers. By removing my personal information from these lists, they reduce the likelihood of someone stealing my identity through the theft of that information. I definitely want that! The sex offender registry reports are really good to have as well, and not something I thought an identity theft company would include, so I see that as a huge bonus! I would definitely suggest getting this for your entire family, it is well worth the money.

  140. No Identity Theft says:

I agree with you on the reduced pre-approved letters. I am so glad that I almost never get anymore of those annoying letters in the mail. Just having that perk is worth the monthly payment let alone all the other stuff that’s included with membership. If I was a woman I would definitely want the sex offender report available to me. I am surprised more women don’t pay attention to that vital tool.

  141. No Identity Theft says:

Thanks for taking your time and going over our review. LifeLock is very confident in their services. The old CEO used to put his own social security number on blast and dared people to steal his identity. That seems pretty confident to me. They don’t have 4 million current customers for no reason. They are at the top of the list for identity theft protection services.

  142. No Identity Theft says:

The Ultimate Plus membership is on the pricey side. That plan is the most comprehensive, but most people don’t need it unless they have substantial assets to keep protected. I recommend the Total Protection for most people. It’s affordable at $17.99 per month and does all you need for identity theft protection. The app for LifeLock is the best in the business in my opinion. I really like that you can upload all your important docs into the app so you don’t have to carry them around, and you always have access to them on your phone. Such a great perk!!

  143. No Identity Theft says:

Yeah Wilber, over $15 billion was stolen from US citizens last year. It’s staggering to hear that. One out of 4 people have been a victim of identity theft. Every day you hear some sort of scheme that occurred regarding identity theft in the country. It’s a problem that is sadly only going to get worse, not better. That’s why I am adamant that people increase their awareness and begin to understand the value of having their identity monitored. Nobody is safe now and anyone can be a target, young or old.

  144. Dean Gregory says:

Though I am very vigilant in protecting my identity, I unfortunately have suffered identity theft in the past. Needless to say, this caused a great deal of pain in terms of having to reestablish my credit and clear my name. From that point, I invested in LifeLock to protect my identity and accounts, and, fortunately, have not had an issue since. LifeLock is incredibly vigilant in monitoring your accounts and identity, notifying me of even the slightest risk. The team at LifeLock is very professional, prompt and courteous as they are eager to solve problems and protect you. I can’t recommend LifeLock enough so that you can sleep easy and rest assured that your financial future is secure.

  145. Alec says:

One thing I really find cool about Lifelock is that it can let you create digital copies of your credit card, debit card, ID (driver’s licenses, student ID’s, etc.), which is especially convenient in the case of an emergency where you lose one of these things. I can’t tell you how many times my dad or myself have had scares or inconveniences when we would leave our debit cards behind at restaurants or hotels when travelling abroad, so Lifelock minimizes risk in that sense. It’s all managed through cloud storage on your phone. Prices depending on extra services range from $8.99 to $26.99 a month, which is a pretty reasonable price range. It also helps that you can give protection to your child for $5.99 a month. Their partnership with the National Organization for Victim Assistance and the FBI acts as ample verification for Lifelock’s services. All in all, if you want cheap and reliable identify theft protection through digital security of your valuable documents and cards, then this is the service for you.

  146. No Identity Theft says:

Hi Dean, I agree that LifeLock is very good at monitoring its members. Their smart phone app is the best in the business in my opinion. Very easy to use and the cloud feature is awesome. Being able to upload your cards into your phone so you don’t have to carry them around is such an awesome perk to enjoy. The peace of mind and saving of time are the main reasons why I am a member of identity theft protection. Glad you share the same idea.

  147. No Identity Theft says:

Yes Alec, that’s one of my favorite things about LifeLock. Their app is the best in the market. They are one of the newer identity theft protection companies so they understand the importance of everything needing to be digital and in the cloud. That’s why they have over 4 million current members now. They are on their way to becoming the largest provider of identity theft protection. They have prices that can cater to any budget and they offer fantastic customer service. There’s a reason you see their ads all over the place…..

  148. Gtr says:

My dad was a victim of identity theft after he lost his wallet and thought that he had just misplaced it or left it somewhere. Lucky for him he had acquired LifeLock Ultimate Plus. The moment someone used his credit cards, he was alerted about the activity by SMS immediately. This came at an appropriate timing, and he notified LifeLock that he was not aware of the activity. My dad reported about the issue following the terms and conditions and also provided full cooperation in investigations. The issue was eventually resolved, and he was also compensated through LifeLock insurance policy. Lifelock provided an amazing support system as it had stopped any more dealings with his credit card giving him a chance to deal with the situation in a calm way. Imagine what could have happened. The good thing about LifeLock is you can count on it, and they have a cloud storage for cards and also help replace lost or stolen credit or debit cards, driver’s licenses, Social Security, and insurance cards. It is commendable to have their services especially in these days when identity theft is high, and they will even cover your little ones for their identity to be safe.

  149. No Identity Theft says:

LifeLock has the best smart phone app out there by far compared to the rest of all the identity theft protection companies out there. The fact that you can make copies of all your important documents in a secure app and not have to carry them around ever is beyond amazing. Everyone else needs to follow their lead on this. The reason why I like LifeLock and see them with the highest future potential is because they incorporate technology and look at new ways and innovations to make their product better. I love that it’s all stored in the cloud so I never have to worry about losing anything anymore. Very convenient perk that they offer.

  150. Sierra F says:

I had the unfortunate experience of having my identity stolen through one of my debit cards while I was studying abroad. Because I was outside the US, I had a horrible time trying to contact my bank to get the card stopped. They kept wanting the 16-digit number on my card and I tried to keep explaining that I didn’t have it because it was *stolen* and I’d never committed the number to memory. Now that I have Lifelock the app has been a huge lifesaver. If this ever happens again I’ll have digital copies of my cards and will be able to have my funds safeguarded – better than what my bank was doing!

  151. Sandra Keyes says:

I was taken for a ride like so many of us and ended up doing research after the fact. Lifelock seems to be the best value for money at the moment for me. The Plus Membership covers so much that I have very little to worry about. Protecting my bank account was priority #1. The fact that they can also cover my kids in case of someone stealing their identity is priceless. I’ve also found their customer service to be great and quick. Plus with their 30 day trial, there’s no reason not to try it.

  152. Andrya Long says:

I have the ultimate plus membership and I think it is worth every penny! I am always so anxious when I have to go check my credit score online because I’m afraid of being scammed. Lifelock not only protects my information online, but it also gives me my credit score! I run a business online, so identity theft is always a fear of mine. I’m happy to say that it hasn’t happened to me yet, and I’m confident that Lifelock will continue to protect me.

  153. John says:

Having to confront the problem of identity theft while traveling abroad has long been a major concern of mine. Every time you pull out your card to make a purchase, you’re a potential victim of an identity theft crime. Warnings of suspicious transactions, a capacity to restore already compromised I.D.s, and protect the credit score makes livelock’s service a great value.
